Jason Squire
(BA Labour Studies, MEd, PhD)
Jason is the Founding Director of My Film Story and has a genuine passion for film and people’s stories. Jason has enjoyed a diverse background from working in Adelaide pubs in the 1980’s, to being a South Australian Police Officer, a United Nations war crimes investigator and spending the last 20 years overseas working in humanitarian and development organisations in leadership positions. Jason has lived and worked in Southern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and across Asia. Jason became interested in short films as a storytelling tool while working with communities across the world.
Philippa Squire
(BA Philosophy & Sociology, MCCJ)
Philippa is the co-Founder of My Film Story. Philippa started her working life in pubs and restaurants in Adelaide in the 1980’s eventually settling into an administration career in a variety of public and private settings. Philippa is a creative artist who loves painting and while accompanying Jason across the world, volunteered her creative skills in many locations, including with women and children affected by wars or natural disasters. Philippa loves the design process of filmmaking and how to shape the story for an audience.
